Cult of PiN Glyph Tier List
Role-based Glyph rankings for campaign and Endless.
This Glyph Tier List ranks shop upgrades by the job they do. Watch the embedded max-damage run to see how multipliers only matter after mission damage and Ritual uptime exist.
S-tier roles
Mission amplifiers that raise the damage you earn from objectives. Ritual accelerators that shorten chains or empower Multiball/Inferno payoffs. Boss melt tools that punish post-telegraph windows.
A-tier roles
Reliable flat damage, mana income helpers, and flexible multipliers that do not demand perfect lines.
B-tier and situational
Score-per-damage converters that shine only after you already print points; novelty Glyphs that require specific bumper layouts.
Avoid early
Hyper-niche one-use effects before you understand boss telegraphs, and greed piles that ignore spare-ball survival.
Ball pairing
Match Glyphs to Ritual identity — see Rituals Explained and Ball Tier List.
Shop sequence example
Act I–II: mission value + survival. Act III–IV: Ritual power. Act V–VI: boss burst and Endless conversion.
Tracking
Use Glyph Progress for collection and Build Planner mid-run.
Role conflict examples
Mission amplifiers plus ignored missions equal wasted mana. Ritual accelerators plus never-firing Rituals equal vanity. Boss melt without telegraph literacy equals donating damage to immunity frames.
Endless-only picks
Some multipliers only blossom after you can survive chaos. Park them until Act VI & Endless is unlocked and comfortable.
Patch humility
Demo rebalances already proved score-per-damage curves can shift. Re-test assumptions after updates.
Trigger fixes that change rankings
Hotfix #5 fixed multiple Glyph triggers (spare-on-act, Tempest mana, Oiled Inferno duration, Summoned spare on Bonus). If a Glyph did nothing on launch weekend, retest before burying it at the bottom of your list.
Role tags beat letter grades
Tag Glyphs as mission accelerators, Ritual amplifiers, boss timers, spare economy, or score multipliers. Buy missing roles before stacking three multipliers. Retest anything Hotfix #5 named. Performance Glyphs that spawn excessive particles matter less after Hotfix #6 rate limits, but your eyes still deserve mercy.
Page takeaway
Tag roles before letter grades. Retest Hotfix #5 trigger fixes. Buy missing roles before triple multipliers, and remember particle spam is rate-limited but still noisy.
Roles before letter grades
Tag mission accelerators, Ritual amplifiers, boss timers, spare economy, and score multipliers. Buy missing roles before stacking three of the same fantasy. Retest anything Hotfix #5 named. Particle-heavy toys hitch less after Hotfix #6 rate limits, but your eyes still deserve mercy during Multiball.
A Glyph that accelerates illuminated missions often beats a bigger multiplier you cannot cash. Boss-timer and tentacle helpers spike in value before known tough Acts. Spare-economy Glyphs rose after Abandon Ball made soft-locks costly instead of run-ending. Retest launch-weekend duds named in Hotfix #5. Keep a dated personal list; this wiki ranks roles, not a fake global S-tier carved in stone.
Shop order that survives patches
Mission value, Ritual amplifier, boss timer or tentacle help, spare economy, then score. Skip a multiplier if you still drain before Act III. Retest Oiled, Summoned, Tempest-mana, and spare-on-Act toys after Hotfix #5. If overkill flame is already up, stop buying bumper-HP Glyphs and buy mission tools instead. Date every personal ranking. A Glyph that failed on 11 August may work on 15 August after trigger fixes. Overkill flame is a shop signal: stop buying raw bumper damage when it is already lit.
When a Glyph is a trap
Traps look like huge multipliers that do not help illuminated missions or boss timers. They also look like particle storms you cannot read. After Hotfix #6 the storms hitch less, but they can still hide drains. Buy readability when you are learning; buy greed when Act VI is already boring.

Should I always buy damage?
Not before mission ramps and Ritual uptime exist.
Are one-use Glyphs good?
