Cult of PiN Glyph Progress
One hundred Glyphs — earn mana, expand the shop pool, break tables.
Glyphs are the deckbuilding spine of Cult of PiN. You do not type codes to unlock them; you earn mana by clearing Acts and spend it in the shop between stages. This guide explains how collection progress works and how to avoid wasting mana on dead ends.
Shop timing
After an Act, you enter the mana shop. Prioritise tools that match your ball Ritual and the table’s current bumper density. If you are unsure, open the Glyph Tier List for a role-based ranking, then lock choices with the Build Planner.
Collection panel tips
Unlocked Glyphs appear greyed with readable names instead of mystery ”???” entries, which helps you plan future synergies. Hover or highlight locked items for names and effects when available. One-use Glyphs must be tracked carefully — they can win a boss fight and then disappear from the run.
Damage math without spoilers
Score-per-damage Glyphs were rebalanced during the demo era so they reward sustained excellence rather than tiny early spikes. Treat huge E-notation damage as a late-run fantasy that still needs clean cradle work from Cradle & Nudge.
Pairing with Blessings
Glyphs are purchasable mid-run tools; Blessings are the high-impact Act rewards. Do not double-stack the same fantasy if a Blessing already covers it — see Blessings & Curses.
Missions feed mana indirectly
Better mission completion means healthier Acts, which means more shop visits. Learn the mission lighting and Ritual chains on Missions & Rituals.
Boss pressure
If bosses outpace your damage, you are either missing mission damage ramps or buying vanity Glyphs. Study How to Beat Bosses before investing in niche modifiers.
Meta goal
Your long-term project is unlocking the full Glyph pool so every ball has a viable line. That is the real “code” replacement: a growing toolkit.
Collection milestones that feel good
Celebrate readable unlock panels: every greyed Glyph with a real name is a future plan. Chase breadth early, depth later. A wide pool makes Build Planner decisions less forced.
Shop discipline scripts
Script A: mission value → Ritual support → boss melt. Script B (Endless): survival floor → multipliers → greed. Do not mix scripts in the same Act break. If a curse inverted your flippers, delay multiplier greed until control returns — Blessings & Curses.
When the shop feels empty
Empty shops usually mean you already bought the obvious roles. Pivot into Altar upgrades and mechanical play instead of forcing a bad Glyph. Revisit Missions & Rituals to create damage without spending mana.
Shop discipline after economy hotfixes
Chancellor’s nerfed mana refund and Ball Save’s narrower window make greedy shops riskier. Buy mission/Ritual value before vanity. Track broken-feeling Glyphs against Post-Launch Hotfixes — several trigger bugs were fixed in #5.
Mana shop heuristics
Spend first on tools that complete illuminated missions faster or raise Ritual damage. Spend second on boss timer or tentacle helpers before a known tough Act. Spend last on vanity multipliers that only matter once drains are rare. One-use Glyphs should be mentally tagged as boss buttons, not Act II snacks.
When a Glyph description and observed behaviour disagree, check Hotfix #5 trigger fixes before assuming the text is lying.
Page takeaway
Shop for mission and Ritual roles before vanity multipliers. Retest Glyphs named in Hotfix #5 trigger fixes. Tag one-use Glyphs as boss buttons so Act II greed does not waste them.
Trigger bugs that looked like bad Glyphs
Hotfix #5 repaired several shop toys that simply did not fire: spare ball on spare Act, Tempest mana, Oiled doubling Inferno duration, and Summoned adding a spare when a Bonus Table starts. If a Glyph “did nothing” on launch weekend, buy it once more on a controlled Easy run before you bury it at the bottom of your personal list.
Chancellor’s weaker Act-up mana refund also changes shop greed. Buy mission and Ritual value first, boss-timer help second, vanity multipliers last. One-use Glyphs belong on the boss button, not as Act II snacks. Cross-check ranks on the Glyph Tier List.
